Crohn’s disease belongs to a group of disorders known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). IBD occurs due to a poor immune system that adversely affects the gastrointestinal tract, causing inflammation. Crohn’s disease results in inflammation and, at times, causes ulcers and scars on the digestive tract, starting from the mouth to the anus, but it is more common around the small intestine.
Crohn’s disease requires proper and detailed diagnoses because its symptoms can be mistaken for other intestinal disorders.
