Vitiligo (vit-il-EYE-go), also known as leukoderma, is a skin disorder that causes loss of skin color. Smooth, white areas (macules if less than 5 mm or patches if 5 mm or larger) appear on the skin. If you have vitiligo in a place with hair, the hair on your body may also turn white.
