Court-Ordered Alcohol Evaluation and Treatments


A court-ordered alcohol evaluation is a clinical assessment ordered by a judge to determine the severity of an alcohol use disorder and the appropriate level of care. The evaluator uses interviews, screening tools, medical histories, and often collateral information to recommend detox, inpatient or outpatient treatment, medication-assisted options, counseling, and monitoring plans. The written report guides sentencing or diversion decisions and becomes part of court proceedings.
