Vitiligo, aka leukoderma, is a skin disorder that causes a loss of skin color. Smooth, white areas appear on a skin. If you have vitiligo in a place with hair, the hair on your body may also turn white. Treatment of vitiligo aims to achieve two things. The first is to stop the spread of skin discoloration, and the second is to get an even skin tone (i.e., reverse or at least mask the discoloration).
