 Traditional Chinese Medicine – TCM

TCM, which stands for "Traditional Chinese Medicine," is the name for several treatments from China and other parts of Asia. It is considered an alternative therapy in Western countries, a long-standing medical practice widely accepted in many Asian countries. But what is TCM? Traditional Chinese medicine is all about balance. It is also a whole-person approach, which means that the mind, body, and spirit are all considered. Any part of a complete entity out of balance—in the physical and metaphysical senses—is likely to cause disease. It derives its roots from the yin-yang theory (absorbed by Taoism). The Yin-Yang theory is once again in balance. It says that everything in the universe can be split into two parts that work together. Woman vs. man, cold vs. hot, moon vs. sun, light vs. darkness, and so on are all common examples. In the strictest sense, neither good nor evil exists, but both are part of everything. Traditional Chinese medicine seeks to restore balance and health.
