Holistic Otolaryngology (ENT)

Holistic ENT

Holistic ENT becomes more and more popular. More than 13,000 health care providers are members of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

  1. Only three of them are members of the American Holistic Medical Association, which is housing about 1,000 members and is just about to celebrate its 30th birthday.
  2. Many of the same problems that their non-holistic colleagues see in their patients are also seen by these three doctors. Tinnitus, allergies, sinus infections, and so on are all things that these three doctors see in their patients.

All of them have been certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. They have all had the same basic training and met the same standards as their peers, too.

It’s one of the things that makes them unique, though, that they often use alternative therapies. If you live in New York and have pain in your face, head, or ear, Benjamin F. Asher, MD, might use osteopathic manipulation to help. Occasionally, Robert J. Sciacca, MD, the founder of Alabama ENT Associates in Birmingham, performs acupuncture to help people with chronic pain, ear, nose, and throat problems, and people who smoke.

Their unique trait is that they all believe in having an open mind and looking at the whole person, not just their otolaryngological problem. When someone is practicing holistic medicine, it’s more about how they think about things than how they do things.

At Philadelphia Holistic Clinic, we want to make sure our patients have a great time. Because no one treatment is right for everyone when it comes to ear, nose, and throat care, they do that. Specialists look at the whole picture of a patient’s health and come up with a plan. It’s at this point that integrative medicine comes into play.

This is how ENT combines traditional medicine with holistic options to help patients achieve overall well-being. Dr. Victor Tsan, the owner of the Philadelphia Holistic Clinic in Philadelphia, explained this.

There are a lot of natural ways to treat problems with the ears, nose, and throat using holistic ENT.

Holistic Medicine

They want to make sure that they are looking into all of the best options for their patients and their families, especially when it comes to their health. Because these things are good, they’re becoming more popular. Essential oils, probiotics, plant-based diets, and meditation are all becoming more popular. We can help the body, mind, and spirit very well if we use holistic therapies in everyday medical care. People with ENT problems can use oils to help with reflux, which is a common problem, or they can use diet changes and allergy drops to help with allergies, which are a common problem.

How do we figure out which holistic ENT treatment is best for a person?

There are a lot of different treatments that can help people with cancer, and we want to make sure that people who have cancer and their families know about them. While professionals are there to help patients, at the end of the day, the best choices are made by the patient and/or family because they will be in line with their goals.

These holistic ENT treatments work well with conventional medicine to help people with ENT problems get better.

Those that are good for the body, mind, and spirit are chosen. Antibiotics may be recommended for people who are sick with a sinus or ear infection. You can use essential oils, probiotics, and a short or long-term dairy-free diet to help your body deal with an infection and the antibiotic it needs to get rid of it. Also, there are times when conventional medicine gives “faster” relief than other types of medicine do. Another example: Steroids may be given to people who have a lot of pain while essential oils start to work on them. The patient always has a say in what kind of therapy they get. There isn’t always a “right” answer.

People, who use holistic medicine can get help with what?

Sinus infections, ear pain, allergies, stress, anxiety, headaches, tinnitus, and TMJ are some of the symptoms. Also, reflux, cough, and even insomnia can happen because of the symptoms.

When it comes to the patient’s long-term health, it can have an effect

When you help yourself and your family lives their best, healthiest lives, it doesn’t happen right away. It’s about making choices each day that help you feel good inside and out. Any choice that helps the body, mind, and spirit can lead to long-term health. We feel a lot about how we do because of what the person wants.

What advice would I give to someone who isn’t sure if holistic treatment is right for them?

Try it out! It won’t hurt. At the very least, it will help the person while they are taking antibiotics and steroids.

In what ways have our patients’ results changed since they started to use both holistic ENT and conventional medicine instead of just one?

I’ve seen things. A true “healing” of the body happens when the body, mind, and spirit are brought back into balance in the way nature meant them to be. Giving advice to someone helps them get stronger, which helps them become their own true healer. There are always results that are based on the wants and intentions of each person. It has been a long time since I saw the patient’s beauty and balance come out.

Is there anything else I’d like people to know about our clinic?

Everybody should know what their health and well-being goals are. As Hippocrates said, the true healer is inside of you. Modern Holistic Medicine will help all of us to be better at being healers.

Holistic ENT in Philadelphia

People in Philadelphia should know that we are very interested in using holistic treatments to fight ear, sinus, and throat diseases.

This morning, I went to see a patient of mine who had been infected with more than seven different things in the past year. In the end, we made sure she had a full treatment plan for her nose that included medicines, sprays, and even natural treatments.

ENT is part of the whole body, so if you have a lot of problems with your nose, sinuses, sore throat, strep throat, ear infections, and/or headaches, make an appointment with us to have us look at your ear, nose, and throat from the holistic point of view.
